AO Microwave’s high-performance D-type gaskets are engineered to deliver reliable environmental sealing alongside robust electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding across rectangular waveguide flange interfaces. Fabricated from premium, metal-filled elastomers with a specialized "D" cross-section—utilizing conductive silicone or fluorosilicone compounds filled with silver-plated aluminum, silver-plated copper, or nickel-graphite particles—our D-type gaskets achieve low contact resistance across the joint. These gaskets provide an outstanding shielding effectiveness of typically > 100 dB up to 40 GHz, preventing RF leakage and shielding sensitive receiver components from external EMI.
By utilizing the "D" geometry, our gaskets establish a flat contact surface at the base while the rounded top compresses easily to seal surface irregularities. They are essential for ruggedized military transceivers, airborne radar compartments, and high-shielding communication enclosures.
